Melamine foam for Aerospace

Melamine foam is a new type of low density (4-12kg / m3) insulation and noise reduction material (resonance coefficient 0.034w / (mk), B1 flame retardant). It is a new type of foam with a high opening ratio of three-dimensional grid structure .  its unique chemical structure and three-dimensional network cross-linking system make it unique chemical and physical stability, no aging and decomposition under weak acid and weak alkali environment. It is widely used in aviation seats, passenger ship cabins, warship engine compartments, low temperature liquefied gas carriers and artificial satellites.   The ultra-light nature of melamine foam makes it possible to reduce the overall cabin weight while reducing noise.

As a non-fibrous product, there is no fiber shedding during flight.  The melamine foam is filled inside the cabin cavity, and some special heat insulation effects are resistant to high and low temperatures. In high temperature resistance 200° and low temperature -180° it can maintain its elasticity.  It is a new type of aircraft insulation and noise reduction material.

Features: insulation, heat insulation, flame retardant, noise reduction, light weight, high and low temperature resistance, ultra low formaldehyde, good post-processing.

Applications: Aerospace, aircraft, ships.

Application field

1. Boeing Company is using sound-insulating and heat-insulating melamine foam as insulation material for its new aircraft Dream 787.  This is the first time melamine foam has been used for cabin noise and environmental protection.

2. Melamine foam is used for insulation and sound absorption of aircraft pipes, seats and fuselage.

3. Under the management of the European Space Agency's European Space Agency, the Ariane 5 launcher was responsible for launching the satellite into space using melamine foam.

4. Swiss Contraves Space AG use melamine foam on top of the rocket to protect the satellite from high pressure during takeoff.
